Novels? Novellas? Novelettes?

What’s the difference? There are some structural differences, but mostly it’s the length. Typically, novelettes are anything up to 7,500 words. Novellas range from 7,500 to 40,000 words. And novels are usually from 40,000 words and up. To remember, the longer the name, the shorter the book. Novels are bigger than novellas, which are bigger than novelettes.
